Description

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin that is harder than either.  It was used in ancient times as a substitute for copper weapons as, being harder, bronze holds an edge better than copper.  In Harkania and Sevilla bronze is rarely used for martial applications, superseded by iron and steel.  It is still used by some primitive cultures, and often used for armor in Mycopalusia.

Bronze weapons are not "forged" in the traditional sense.  Instead, they are cast.  Molten bronze is poured into moulds and allowed to cool.  The cooled item is then hammered into the desired shape, and a cutting edge can be hammered into edged weapons.

Price

The price of bronze weapons and armor varies more than for any other material.  In more technologically advanced societies iron weapons and armor, while expensive by nature, may be cheaper than less effective but more exotic bronze equipment.  In other parts of the world bronze is considered the baseline material for martial implements, and thus cheaper than iron.
