The Wastes
The Wastes are a large area north of Sevilla and the Ugarite Valley, between Moktur and The Cancer.
In ages long past, the Sevine Republic extended significantly into the Wastes, as did the Took'ik Orkish Empire. The Lost Ugari city-state of Nin-Dashur is said to be lost somewhere out in wilderness. The Sky Towers of Hansz-Kurha, the Necropolises of the Fimiri, Hyulbrag, the Storm Giant Citadel--all are supposedly out in the Wastes, waiting to be discovered. Before then it was thought to be the seat of Dolotai Civilization. Since those exalted times, it has long fallen into ruin. The Wastes are a now little more than a series of hot, craggy canyons and jagged mountain ranges, dotted here and there with ruins from a thousand cultures.

Being subjected to the baleful influence of the Cancer, however, has transformed portions of the wastes, accounting for vast underground oceans, with their own self-sustaining ecosystems, mysterious mountain peaks, topped by incongruous patches of jungle and, some say, floating islands, tethered to the earth by giant-forged chains.
The areas closer to civilization, though only sparsely populated, are far from devoid of sentient life. Numerous border posts from Sevilla, Moktur and the Ugarite Valley dot the western and southern reaches. Sevillan expatriates, Ugarite nomads, even companies of Moktok rangers might be encountered in these hinterlands. Of course, stranger denizens abound as well. The Wastes are home to the Szangary, viscious, nomadic bandits, who serve the Patchwork King who rules from the fabulous mobile city of Slaszivak. Minotaur and Athols hunt and air and farther out, Fimiri, Storm Giants, even Collosi can be found.
