The Skaaven are a race of diminutive rat men. They originated as the rats which lives onboard Hirako ships as they traveled through chaos-space and mutated in something more humanoid.

Though once numerous, they have all but disappeared from the surface of the circle in the Phale Ages. They worship The Great Horned Rat, a manifestation of primal Chaos and similar to Makala.

The swamps of Fenmire were once called the Skaavenblight and were their ancestral home.
