Sevilla

The Holy Empire of Phaeline Sevilla is the oldest surviving bastion of human civilization on the planet. Though the Empire of Sevilla proper dates back to the year 5BA when Inoxpheles, the grand philosopher, revolted against the government of the Sevine Republic, instituting an Imperatum and, five years later, raising the rock of Seagarden from the depths of the ocean, the Sevillans, aside from their imperial as opposed to republican leanings, are fairly culturally and ethnically identical to the Sevine Republic that proceeded them. This would push the origins of the Sevillan people back to 400BA or further.

Sevilla as it stands today is the second largest human enclave, trailing behind the Harkanian League significantly in terms of mileage, but only slightly in terms of population. Sevillans pride themselves on the civilized nature of their Empire, citing well maintained roads, well-stocked libraries, and the beauty of numerous cities, each overflowing with history. Additionally, for some 600 years, the Pax Imperatum has been in play.

In general, Sevilla is located in a temperate, climate, hot and humid in the summers, cold and and windy in the winters. It rarely snows in Sevilla, save for in the Northern reaches of Ensaros, and in the mountains.

While more than 90% of the Sevillan population is human, growing numbers of Easterlings and Orks are pressing for full citizenship, a status already granted, begrudingly to the half-human children of such races. Of course, with the expanding network of trade and relative ease of world travel, Azhua, Wendigo, Trollfolk, Osankari, Dwarves, Half-Aelves are seen with more frequency.
