Quintus Martius Arcanus
Background
Born in the city of Fort Terremirius, capital of Nova Sevinia, to the shipwrecked Sevinic nobleman Lucius Martius Sextus, cousin of Governor Regent Septimus Martius Espadonus, and Sextus's wife Kijrsten Rasmussen, daughter of the Thane of Rasmussen Hall, one of the six nations of the Skandervaad. Young Quintus studied arcane magic under Archeon Sylvestrix Mysticanus, the Lorekeeper of the Sevinic colony, but excelled especially as a priest of Sanka'ala, who appeared to young Quintus in a drowning induced vision and bestowed his cognomen on him.
With the destruction of Fort Terremirius, the governorship of Nova Sevinia fell to Arcanus, who led his people to the island of Reved and established a new Republic near the current site of Ivortown. At Reved, Arcanus was transformed into an agent of the primordial Mother of Waters, using his power to defend the Sevinic people against the god Nurgle. He decimated the plague gods's army with the Orb of Arcanus and delivered the god's avatar to her doom in the sub-aquan abode of the Mother of Waters.
Following the defeat of the plague god and the fall of the chaos moon, Arcanus travelled the continent battling chaos and aiding his companions as they encountered the Iron Council, Sasha Potempkin, the Purple Hand, the bloodmage Fyorencz, the Enchantress, the Baron of Torque, Prince Ramhotep and Titania Vineshadow. At the cataclysmic battle of Queenta'arha, Arcanus transformed the shattered chaos moon into inert lead.
With the resulting rest in conflict, Arcanus travelled the circle, explored its exterior, and sought ascension, ultimately projecting his will into a demiplane and laying his body to sleep in a remote lake, guarded by his immortalized ibis familiar Sapiens.
