Orochis are large, multi-headed reptiles, relatives of the Balaurian Hydra, native to Moktur, the Winterlands, and Northern Sevilla.

They live in deep pineforest, curled around the branches of tall trees, waiting to drop down on unsuspecting prey. Like the Balaurian Hydra, they have a brain stem located in the trunk of their long, snake-like bodies, with eight heads that have limited ganglia contained in each one of the cranial cavities. Each head is vaguely draconic in appearence, with two eyes, a tooth filled mouth and a pair of horny ridges that travel back from the eye, along the length of the neck to the trunk. Unlike Balaruian Hydras, Orochis have no other limbs, just a long serpentine body, stretching between 20 and 30 feet. The necks add another 10-15 feet, topped by foot long skulls. In contrast to the Balaurian Hydra, the Orochi also sports thicker skin, with sharp slightly raised scales that it uses to get a better grip on the old growth pine forest in which it lives. They are strictly carnivores, eating whatever prey comes along, usually small birds, large insects or small mammals such as squirrels, martens and stoats. It is not averse to taking on large prey occasionally, using its heads in concert to take cautious but relentless bites out of a creature it has first ensnared.
