Moktur

Moktur is a land of cold steppes, snowy taiga and icy bogs. It is home to many of the so-called "beast races," Moktok, Kandle-dandle, Fimiri etc.

Took'ik Empire

Long since the ancestral seat of Ork-kind which gives the land its name, Mok'tur has never been politicall unified so much as it has embraced the stability of cultural diversity. Orks record in both story, song and codex a time when their people extended as far west as Nuscovy and as far east as what is now the Cancer. Human invasions from the South, however pushed them farther and farther back into the pineforests and icy mountain passes that had given rise to them. This long forgotten age of Orkish supremacy, commonly referred to as the Took'ik Empire is almost completely lost to history. It is known to be, however, the last time the Orks had a major military pressence in the Circle. Peaceful and gregarious by nature, Orks, perhaps because of their savage appearance have suffered the brunt of human xenophobia, far more so than the far more warlike Vaikun and Osankari. If and when this Took'ik Empire existed, it was no doubt a vastly different society than the Orks of today.

Homeland Exile

The earliest human records of Orkish society date from around 2000BA, long afte the aelves had lost their war against humanity in the west. They suggest that Orks are savage and unwashed, but also possessed of a secret and furtive society unseen by human eyes. This si no doubt the network of arboreal cities centered on Gokwood and present throughout the the Taiga of the Mok'thorgoth. Comparing it with Orkish records reveals a time of deep sadness in Orkish society wherein they had lost all but their ancestral capital to the incursions of humanity. Furthermore they had been forced to live in increasingly tighter proximity to other so-called Beast races, namely the Kandle-Dandle and Wendigo. Rather than fight off the more tribal societies which these creatures presented, the Orks worked to incorporate them into a more enlightened way of Orkish life. Though they were slow to react and to this day still harbor sharp distinctions between themselves and their Ork uplifters, the Gnollfolk and Ch'karn bot share a deep link with Ork kind and in many cases, whole tribes and nations have been absorbed into Orkish society.

The Fimiri Wars

When threats finally arrived, it was in the form of the Fimiri, the cyclopean trollfolk whose matriarchal society of powerful witches and voudounists had long since harbored resentment at all the races that infringed upon their ancestral bogs. Though far less numerous than the Orks, their powerful sorceries and degenerate predilections for curses and necromancy made them difficutl opponents. The end result was the decimation of Orkish society, and the sack and siege of numerous Orkish cities. However, orkish losses were comparatively light compared to those suffered by the Trolls. The Witch-Queen Murrghh abandoned her assault on the Mok'tur Queendom and agreed that their people should live in peace. This resulted in a trollish civil war with the xenophobic victors wresting control of the Finnbog while Murrghh's faction readily joined with the Orks, becoming a part of their society.

Conflicts with Sevilla

As the Sevine Republic and Sevillan Empire rose to prominence, large parts of Orkish holdings were reclaimed by the Ensarosi in the south. As soon as Ensaros was incorporated into the Empire, Orks suddenly had to contend with an organized military power, as opposed to warring city-states and Petty Kingdoms. The Borders were pushed farther and farther north, reaching nearly the southern reaches of Finnbog'ra
