Gerund Lennaire is the prince of the Villehardouin province of the Vallée du Sept Lune.

background

Gerund was born in 1672, the second son of Renard Lennaire and his wife Schala. As such, in accordance with family tradition, he would be trained as a seeker of knowledge and evetually depart for Harkania, the land where the fabled third moon fell to earth. Gerund spent his youth studying the normal corpus of things typically availiable to a Sevillan knight: hunting, horseback riding, fencing, history, poetry. In addition, however, Gerund showed a keen interest in music and was trained as a singer, a lutist, flautist, and percussionist. Gerund excelled at all he was given to do: regularly entered and won jousts and melees, brought back quite a few trophies from the hunt, and was considered not just a musical prodigy, but perhaps someone with the makings of a great composer.

Gerund's life changed when he was 17, and was ranging in the mountains beyond the Vallée du Sept Lune and ran across a group of Cancerous Ab-Dead, wandered far afield of their ever-shifting home. Involved in some kind of sacrificial rite they had a young woman in their midst, who drank from a warpstone goblet. Gerund and his childhood friend and sworn sword, Arin, rescued her and discovered that though the drink had turned her tongue to solid silver, rendering her effectively mute, she was named Trea, and she had lived her whole life in the Cancer. Gerund and Trea fell quickly in love, their affair hidden by a simple fiction. Trea posed as Gerund's male squire, and while there was a great deal of rumor...

appearance

Gerund is tall and lithe. The chaos has mutated his hands into solid, but somehow flexible, mobile gold, far more agile than his flesh ever was. He had the wrists transmuted into lead to keep the chaos from spreading, but veins of other metals ate through his organs to his heart.
