Azhua
The Azhua are a race of sentient, bipedal reptiles from the jungle continent of Ahuizotl. Legend holds that they were nothing but larger monitor lizards and skinks when the Dolotai came. It was the Dolotai who taught them spells to warm their blood, stand upright and worship both their natural instincts and gods-given minds.
Physical AppearenceThe Azhua are closer in appearence to monitor lizards and iguanas than any other reptile. They have blunted muzzles, large forward facing eyes and forked tongues. Though bipedal, their posture is hunched , tending towards horizontal like that of a many bipedal dinosaurs. They have three long, claw like fingers and an opposable thumb. Their tails are thick and heavy, counterbalancing their forequarters. They have three toes with a heel toe, part way up the calf, and stand so that the balls of their feet are raised off the ground. All Azhua have a crest on the op of their head which varies by tribe and individual, but males also have a neck frill that expands out when excited or angry. The Azhua are lightly built and stand between 4'8 and 5'4 feet tall with females slightly smaller than males.
Since Azhua women lay eggs and do not nurse their young, they have no breasts, but do tend to have more uniform coloration whereas males are more brightly and variegatedly colored.
