Asuku Susumu

  a storm shaman from the southern planes.

Early Life

     Asuku has lived all of his life on the planes of Southern Harkania.  As a young boy, Asuku was a lively, energetic, insomniac little prankster. Early on his parents and the tribal elders channeled his energy into the useful pursuits of hunting and protecting the tribe.  He excelled under the tutelage of the tribes masters and their rigorous training started to bring forth surprising talents.  At age seven he was tested by the elders, and found to have a connection with the powers of weather.  He began to study with the tribe’s eldest shaman, learning about the seasons, the floods and droughts, and especially the storms. 

Teenage Years

     At age 13, he was sent to walk the Way of Summer Storms.  He returned two weeks later badly shaken but alive.  At sixteen he walked the Way of Spring Storms and, when he returned, was gifted with the mithril tattoos forever marking him as a shaman.

     The Way of Autumn storms and the way of Winter storms required him to travel with other tribes whose migration rout intersected both with his tribe and with these Ways.

     In the 13 years since he walked his first way, there have been times when he has rebelled against the path of leadership, discontent to labor under the shackles of responsibility, but never against the power his time in the ways has given him. 

     Fortunately not prone to purposeless violence, he has continued to be guided by the Old Mother, sometimes willingly and sometimes reluctantly, but always moving towards his future as an leader of the tribe.
