AmikiriAmikiri
Height: 1 foot Length: 4 feet Weight: 30-40 lbs Lifespan: 60-80 years Habitat: Cold Shallow Waters near the Winterlands Diet: Piscivorous Nearest Relation: Lobster
The Amikiri is a crustacean, closely related to the lobster. It inhabits the bays and shallows of the Winterlands and is often caught in fishing nets and lobster traps set up by local fishermen. Its forequarters resemble a lobsters, with a pair of claws, which it uses to fend off predators and capture prey. Its head, however is proportionally larger and ends with a large beak that it uses to snap at passing fish. Its hindquarters are almost serpentine, a fleshy, tapering snake-like tail, not armored in exo-skeleton but covered in small, protrusions that resemble fronds of seaweed. It is theorized that it uses its tail as a lure, to bring more prey by its claws and beak. Adult Amikiri are about four feet long from their claws to the ends of their tails, with the head and torso making up only about a third of that size. |
